Casey marks a season milestone

Balancing work and play

Greetings everyone for 2021 from Casey Station.

With the start of 2021 we've now passed the halfway mark of our summer season, with our focus now turning to resupply operations.

Like many back home we enjoyed a short break over the festive season - albeit with various operational factors pushing our official Christmas Day to 29 December. Thankfully, 'Santa' still managed to find us and delivered many well-received gifts!

As always at Casey Station, we remain busy! In between continuing infrastructure, mechanical and science program works, we have been preparing to undertake our annual ship-to-shore resupply operation. Mind you, it hasn't just been work ~ we've been fortunate to enjoy some field training and boating trips, making for some stunning photos and season highlights for many expeditioners.

Early next week will see the arrival of the Voyage 1 resupply ship MPV Everest. Our focus during resupply will be refuelling the station, receipt of critical cargo to sustain winter operations, and arrival of additional winter expeditoners.

We look forward to updating you on the progress

- Kyle (Station Leader).
