The Antarctic Division has two laboratory facilities and office space available at Mawson:
- A cosmic ray physics facility, which is connected to station services
- General Science ‘container style’ Laboratories.
The Science container laboratories are designated as 'wet use' and for 'clean use'. They are connected to station services, networked, have hot and cold running water and contain:
- Millipore water purification system
- Bar (130 L) fridge & freezer (not monitored)
- Analytical and top pan balances
- Drying oven
- Vacuum pump
- Laminar flow
- Fume hood
- Centrifuge
- Chemical storage cupboards
The following equipment is also available for use at Mawson upon request:
- Flow Cytometers (FacScan; FacScalibur)
- Flow Cam (Fluid Imaging)
- Water baths
- Suspension mixers
- Automatic titrators
- Microscopes
- pH/conductivity meters
