We let pictures tell a thousand words as we look at some of the amazing photos from our resident drone aficionado.

Antarctica from above: Views of a drone operator

Trying to find an interesting perspective can be quite challenging in photography, whether it be laying down in freezing snow in the middle of winter or trudging through mud and melt during the heat of the Antarctic summer.

Amongst all my trusty camera gear, one item is different: my quadcopter, or drone as most will call it.

It has braved chilling temperatures and rocky landings to capture a bird’s eye view for those not lucky enough to swindle their way into a chopper ride over the summer season.

It can be difficult to give justice to Antarctica’s beautiful landscapes and frozen wonderlands while firmly planted on the ground.
