Dodgy pumps and dodgy pies
After a slower-than-anticipated fuel transfer last week, it was decided to swap out the lower fuel farm pump for a brand new one we had in stock on Saturday after the pumping.
Mission successful and another great team effort to get a job done. Now with an approximate 2.5 times pumping volume with the new pump, the next midwinter transfer should be a breeze. But remember this is Antarctica so it could freeze!
Monday came along and while the rest of us took a well earned break, Danny Littlejohn decided to get into the kitchen and 'treat us' to a 'gourmet' lunch.
Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies and an assortment of delicious 'variety' meals (that just required the addition of boiling water) were served up. For those that braved the meals, condiments were essential!
Thanks Danny!??
It is now business as usual as both Wilkins and Travers teams prepare for their travels afar in the next month or two.
