Follow the canes to the huts and enjoy the area

From Casey to Brownings and everything in between

This week has continued to see lots of activity around station, in the operating area and at Wilkins Aerodrome. Here on station everyone has been getting their personal gear ready for transport, completing projects and cleaning work areas. Off station, the team has been pushing to complete cane line renewal, hut checks and working to support runway preparations.

The weather has continued to facilitate recreational trips with recent walks to Peterson Island near Browning and on Newcomb Bay, north of Casey. There are a few more trips planned before the end of the season with everyone hoping to see Weddell seal pups, normally seen between September and November, before we depart.

Everyone is also enjoying time chatting about what’s next and reminiscing on some of their personal highlights from the season.
