The news according to Tim
Last week here at Casey saw some cooler weather arrive upon us, temperatures dropping down to −32.6°C and mix into that some southerly winds hitting the station at 51 knots, gusting to 55 knots. Calculate all that together using the Michelini Wind Chill Formula and you start looking at actual working and walking around station temperatures of around −57.3°C.
So as is the drill around these parts, once the snow settles and the weather clears up ‘Team Casey’ spread out and clear the place of any snow build up that will be in the way in regards to accessing buildings and generally being able to move around station. All in all, just another week down here at Casey station.Want to live and work in Antarctica?
