Mawson's summer electrician reflects on his arrival on station and the New Year's Eve party.

Hello from beautiful Mawson

Hello from beautiful Mawson.

This will be my third summer at Mawson Station but the first time we have flown in all the way.

Hobart to Casey, Casey to Davis ski way (Whoop Whoop) then on to Mawson ski way (Rumdoodle).

The weather allowed this to happen in three days; quite a miracle.

Amazing sights along the way.

We (summer team) have been warmly welcomed by the wintering team and made to feel accepted and at home.

The summer season is a busy time at Mawson with daylight almost around the clock and temperatures around and over 0 degrees Celsius. Make hay while the sun shines.

Like the rest of the world we recently celebrated NYE.

Unlike the rest of the world our Mawson village put together outdoor party area and introduced G&G the best Antarctic live band I have ever seen.

Happy New Year

OVER.
