After 12 months together, we are all still friends

I’d like to say something

You might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when I landed in Hobart a year ago and met NC I knew he was one of my own! And my wolf pack, it grew by one. So there we were, there were two of us in the wolf pack. After that, he dragged me into the New Sydney Hotel where he introduced me to the Mawson Crew, I thought “wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added nineteen more people to my wolf pack. Twenty-one of us wolves, running around the Mawson Station together, in Antarctica, looking for fun, adventures and penguins.

But seriously, after 12 months we are still friends somehow. HWB (hot water bottle) love is still strong, and no, despite the temptation, we didn’t invent a duct-tape-based religion during the winter.

As time ticks by, we’ve started to think more and more about what happens when we’re back on the mainland. And of course, we’re also looking forward to welcoming the new incoming wolves (the summerers).
