Nominations are now open for the Australian Antarctic Medal, honouring people who have made an outstanding contribution to the Australian Antarctic Program.

The Medal recognises expeditioners who have shown exceptional commitment, contribution, performance and persistence as part of the Program for more than 12 months.

The Medal was established in 1987 and is an accolade in the Meritorious Service Awards category of the Australian honours system.

Nominations are open until 28 February 2022.
