Allen Rooke has been a member of six wintering Antarctic expeditions with ANARE and has given outstanding service in support of both scientific research and exploration in his primary professional capacity as a Communications Officer and additionally as a volunteer field assistant, dog handler and general hand.
Allen’s knowledge, skills and commitment to community activities is always exemplary. His role as Deputy Station Leader was one that he more than ably filled and his tolerance and sense of humour have been noted as over and above the call of duty of a Communications Officer.
