Australian Antarctic Magazine — Issue 30: June 2016

About the cover

Supervising Communications Technical Officer, Stuart Shaw, took this photo of Lake Druzhby in the Vestfold Hills (near Davis research station) during a field trip to Trajer Ridge in June 2014. The photo was taken at about midday, with the winter twilight providing a colourful backdrop to the glassy surface of the frozen freshwater lake. Stuart used a flash to highlight the bubbles trapped in the ice as the water froze.
