The first international forum on the subantarctic islands and surrounding seas will be hosted by Antarctic Tasmania in Hobart this July. The forum aims to begin discussions between nations with an interest or involvement in the subantarctic, with a view to future cooperative activities in scientific research or management. Over two days, speakers at the forum will discuss subantarctic geography, oceanography, biodiversity, evolutionary history, human impacts and use, conservation, management, and future research and management opportunities.
