Project aim

The invertebrate fauna inhabiting the terrestrial and lake environments of East Antarctica - which includes copepods, cladocera, tardigrades, rotifers, nematodes, mites and springtails - are notoriously difficult to identify. Furthermore, the descriptions of many of the species are in obscure, difficult to access literature. This project will develop a modern guide to the fauna in a single place that will be readily accessible both to scientists and the interested public. The guide will include a non-dichotomous key to all species, and will include detailed descriptions, genetic information, pictures, and distribution maps.
