Project aim
Ultrasound can be used in many medical conditions. Normally, it is used by trained medical professionals (sonographers or radiologists), who may not be available in Antarctica and remote sites in mainland Australia. This project will enable non-specialists to detect disease and injury using ultrasound, increasing the quality of medical care available to expeditioners in Antarctica as well as enhancing delivery of care in other parts of Australia.
