Response of sea ice algae to temperature and oxidative stress

Project aim

An understanding of how Antarctic organisms adapt to environmental change is a major strategic area of Antarctic science. Sea ice algae are of particular interest as they are important primary producers of the Antarctic ecosystem. Our research aims to understand the molecular basis of adaptation of sea ice algae to temperature stress in comparison with tropical and Antarctic algae from other habitats.
