Project aim
Recent observations suggest there has been substantial recovery of lichens in areas previously affected by alkaline cement dust and physical activity at Casey Station. This project will re-examine two 1989/90 study and control sites to evaluate the extent of vegetation recovery over two decades. This work will also provide a basis for ongoing monitoring and analysis of the way in which a sensitive ecosystem can recover from environmental impact.
