Project aim
An understanding of how biological organisms in Antarctica adapt to environmental change is one major strategic area of Antarctic science. Microalgae are of particular interest because they form the basis of the food webs. Our research aims to understand how microalgae from two extremely different geographical regions, the Antarctic and Tropics adapt to UVR stress, by comparing their biochemical response to such stress.
