Project aim
If traditional methods are used it will be decades before there are valid assessments of risk to Antarctic marine organism from environmental contaminants. This project would fast track testing of the effects of toxicants to Antarctic marine invertebrates using recently developed rapid testing methodology. The data generated will then be used to assess the risk to Antarctic marine invertebrates from copper and compare the response of marine Antarctic invertebrates to invertebrates from Victorian coastal waters and other marine environments.
