Three-dimensional microscale distribution and production of plankton populations

Project aim

This project investigates how the microscale three-dimensional distribution of viruses, bacteria and phytoplankton, and the production/respiration rates of the microplankton community in the Southern Ocean varies with viscosity and nutrient concentrations, furthering our understanding of marine food chain and nutrient cycling dynamics.
