Southern extension of the Trans Antarctic deformation project [observational]

Project aim

This is a cooperative project with the Ohio State University (OSU) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS).The project will establish a GPS deformation network along the Transantarctic Mountains in the eastern sector of the AAT. This will be as southerly an extension of the existing Transantarctic Mountains Deformation (TAMDEF) array of 25 primary sites in Southern Victoria Land. It will produce valuable information on post glacial rebound, horizontal motion and neotectonic activity using precise, repeat and continuous GPS measurements.
