Project aim
The aim of this project is to determine the biodiversity of Antarctica microorganisms. Environmental samples will be used to grow microbes which will then be tested for their nitrogen fixation capability and other growth characteristics involved in adaptation. The genes of interest will isolated and characterized to gain a better insight on their evolution and genetic relationship with their tropical relatives.
