Project information
Project aim
Data on the physical flow characteristics, mass balance, sub-glacial topography and recent fluctuations of Brown Glacier will ultimately be used to construct and validate a numerical model of the glacier. The model will be used to reconstruct the climate change that would be necessary to cause the observed fluctuation in glacier extent. This study will contribute to our understanding of climatic changes by deriving a climate-proxy record for a remote and sensitive area.
