Project information
Project aim
This project aims to determine bacterial diversity in Antarctica, including “non-culturable” strains, by the use of various techniques. Environmental samples will be tested for genes of interest, and if positively indicated, bacterial isolation would be attempted to obtain pure cultures for detailed study of metabolic traits which have potential industrial applications.
