Project information
Project aim
Macquarie Island terrestrial environments are changing as global climate change occurs and as alterations in the balance of feral animal populations occur from management intervention. This project will re-measure several series of monitoring sites set up either in 1980 or 1990 to study longterm changes in vegetation and soil stability. The sites have been re-measured on average every five years up to 1995. Data up until 1995 indicate changes attributable to climate change, changes in feral animal populations, or a combination of both factors.
