Systematic studies in the sub-Antarctic flowering plants

Project aim

Using detailed studies of seed and flower morphology, this project will investigate the Macquarie Island flora to examine its relationships with other sub Antarctic floras. This study will provide baseline information on the biodiversity of the Macquarie Island flora and help identify the regional variation that exists within the sub Antarctic Floras. These studies will result in an important reference collection of international importance being developed at the Tasmanian Herbarium.
