Project aim
Heavy metal and hydrocarbon contaminated sites located in Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic islands are a major threat to Antarctic ecosystems that should be remediated. This project proposes to investigate plants native to Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic islands for their potential as phytoremediators and their possible use in remediating contaminated sites.
