Primary production, bacterial production, phytoplankton growth and microzooplankton grazing rates along the WOCE SR3 line and in the seasonal ice zone

Project aim

This project is directed at understanding controls on the role of phytoplankton, bacteria and heterotrophic organisms in moderating climate change by determining the rates of biological uptake of CO2 in the surface ocean, and how the fixed carbon is transferred to the deep ocean.
