Comparison of ERS satellite radar altimeter heights with GPS-derived heights on the Amery Ice Shelf, East Antarctica. Annals of Glaciology, 1998
(Ref: 8494)
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature
In the spring of 1995 an extensive global positioning system (GPS) survey was carried out on the Amery Ice Shelf, East Antarctica, providing ground-truth ellipsoidal height measurements for the European remote-sensing satellite (ERS) radar altimeters.

Category 3: Conference paper
A Global Positioning System (GPS) survey has been carried out on the Amery Ice Shelf, providing "ground-truth" measurements of ellipsoidal height for the ERS-1 and ERS-2 satellite altimeters.

Breakup and conditions for stability of the northern Larsen Ice Shelf, Antarctica. Nature, 1998
(Ref: 8317)
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature
Break-up of ice shelves has been regarded as an indicator of climate change1. Observations around the Antarctic Peninsula have shown a pattern of gradual retreat, associated with a regional atmospheric warming and increased summer melt and fracturing processes2-9.
