Comments
We have made our way east along the narrow band of clear water in front
of the Mertz Glacier tongue performing CTD's as we go. In the early
hours of the morning we completed another ice station in perfect
consolidated pack ice with a shallow covering of snow. We took the
opportunity to let the scientists and crew who have yet to step off the
ship stretch their legs and walk on water for the first time.
We hope to continue east towards the north eastern corner of the glacier
tonight before heading north into open water and round into the Ninnis
Polynya tomorrow.
Cheers
Andy and Mike
