Comments

We made good head-way through the ice yesterday in sunny conditions that brought many expeditioners out on deck. While the weather has certainly been a mixed bag this voyage, we could not have asked for better weather for our BBQ on the trawl-deck last night. Conditions were balmy, the light impeccable, and the snow-ridged ice-floes and bergs in the distance set the scene for a convivial evening. Tonight a talk is scheduled by Gary Wilson (3rd Mate) entitled "The Discovery of Australia - do you know your history?"
Gary is currently studying by correspondence for a Certificate in Maritime History, Hull University, United Kingdom, and has been the Master on traditional replica sailing vessels. Today, we continue to push through the pack-ice and expect to clear the ice-edge sometime this afternoon.
Regards,
Karin, Sharon & Adam
