The Davis Aerodrome Project intends to adopt a Competitive Alliance delivery model for the proposed Davis aerodrome and its associated infrastructure.

Why a competitive alliance?

The Competitive Alliance delivery model has been identified as the most suitable to ensure industry engagement and value for money for the Government given the Project’s scale and complexity, and based on expert advice and the outcomes of market sounding activities.

Approach to market

The Commonwealth sought Expressions of Interest (EOI, Phase 1) for the Davis Aerodrome Project via AusTender in December 2020.

The EOI, Phase 1 closed on 9 February 2021. The Project is currently evaluating these to identify shortlisted respondents for EOI, Phase 2.

Following this, the Project anticipates that two shortlisted respondents will then be invited to participate in the Request for Proposal (RFP) phase in 2021.

The Project remains subject to environmental assessment and it is hoped the early engagement of industry through the procurement process will increase opportunities for innovation, which may further minimise or mitigate environmental impacts and reduce costs and/or delivery time.

Queries regarding this procurement should be emailed to EOI20-1415@aad.gov.au.
