David is a songwriter, composer and producer known for his work with alternative pop groups Not Drowning Waving and My Friend The Chocolate Cake in the 1980s and ‘90s.
David has had previous work exhibited in QAGOMA in Brisbane, Melbourne Museum, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Art, PNG National Museum and Art Gallery, and in November 2020 at the Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum in Germany. David’s ‘A Bit Na Ta’ audio-visual project is now being used as a school resource in PNG to help inspire and educate the younger generation about culture, history and art.
Dr K Verell is a storyteller, writer, artist, editor, filmmaker, teacher, and researcher, whose video works have been showcased at prestigious national and international events and venues, including Dark Mofo in Hobart, QAGOMA in Brisbane, the collections of the Singapore Art Gallery and Centre Pompidou in Singapore, and Instalakcje #3 in Poland.
During their visit to Antarctica the pair captured video and audio of the Antarctic landscape for a multi-screen installation with a soundscape featuring original music, natural sounds and spoken word elements. The project will be used for festivals, galleries, museums and educational purposes.
