Anthony travelled to Antarctic in the summer of 05/06, researching Antarctic life, its environment and history, gathering material for a novel. Anthony is an established author of books for children, teenagers and adults. He has published ten books, through Woolshed Press (Random House Australia) and the University of Queensland Press.
Anthony was a presenter at the Ice Cold Words authors’ workshops at the 2006 Hobart midwinter festival. His novel, Into White Silence, was published in 2008. It won the 2009 Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year for Older Readers award.
He now lectures in creative writing at The University of Canberra.
