Krill (Euphausia superba) abundance and Adélie penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae) breeding performance in the waters off the Béchervaise Island colony, East Antarctica in two years with contrasting ecological conditions Deep-Sea Research Part II, 2008 (Ref: 13302)
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature

In 2001 and 2003 small-scale acoustic surveys of Antarctic krill (Euphausia superba) distribution and abundance were conducted … offshore from an East Antarctic colony of Adelie penguins on Bechervaise Island (671350S, 621490E) that has been monitored for … 15 years.

Liparids from the Eastern sector of Southern Ocean and first information from molecular studies. Cybium, 2010 (Ref: 14307)
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature

Two cruises in the eastern sector of the Southern Ocean (POKER 2006 off the Kerguelen Islands and CEAMARC 2008 off Terre Adélie and George V Land), with extensive surveys, provided an interesting and abundant liparid fish collection (two genera, 13 species, 90 specimens).

Adélie penguin survival: age structure, temporal variability and the influence of the marine ice environment. 1st World Seabird Conference, Victoria, Canada, 7-11 September 2010, 2010 (Ref: 14440)
Category 3: Verbal presentation

Adélie penguin survival is influenced by a variety of processes operating at different spatial and temporal scales. For example, previous research shows that penguin survival is related to the marine ice environment through the indirect effect that ice has on their access to food.

Variability in the breeding phenology of Adélie penguins at a colony: potential causes and consequences for reproductive success. 7th International Penguin Conference, Boston, USA, 30 August-3 September 2010, 2010 (Ref: 14439)
Category 3: Verbal presentation

In this talk we describe the intra- and inter-annual variability in the timing of breeding phenology over a 16 year period for the Adélie penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae) colony at Béchervaise Island, East Antarctica.
