Summary

To manage a fishery effectively, it is crucial to understand the spatial stock structure of the target species, and how fishing mortality is distributed across the stock. This study investigates the genetic stock structure of Antarctic toothfish (Dissostichus mawsoni) throughout its range in the Southern Ocean, and implications for the management of toothfish fisheries.
