Category 3: Verbal presentation

Atmospheric gravity waves (AGWs), which are generated in the lower atmosphere, transport significant amount of energy and momentum into the mesosphere and lower thermosphere. Category 3: Verbal presentation

Atmospheric gravity waves (AGWs), which are generated in the lower atmosphere, transport significant amount of energy andmomentum into the mesosphere and lower thermosphere and cause the mean wind accelerations in the mesosphere.

Category 3: Verbal presentation

One of the serious threats to the Antarctic marine ecosystem is the release of large volumes of petroleum fuel. Numerous fuel spill incidents have occurred and risks of a major spill are increasing due to continued expansion of human activity in the Antarctic region.

Sensitivity and Response of Antarctic and sub-Antarctic Species to Fuel Contamination Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Asia Pacific and Australasia Conference, Adelaide, South Australia, 14-17 September 2014, 2014 (Ref: 15454)
Category 3: Verbal presentation

Fuel spills have occurred in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions, and comprehensive remediation strategies have recently been established to clean-up fuel spills at Australia’s Casey Station and Macquarie Island. However…

Monitoring the floral development of two alien vascular plants (Poa annua and Cerastium fontanum) along an altitudinal gradient on sub-Antarctic Macquarie Island XXXIII SCAR Biennial meeting and open science conference, Auckland, New Zealand, 25-28 August 2014, 2014 (Ref: 15508)
Category 3: Poster

Floral development of two alien species (Cerastium fontanum, Poa annua) were monitored through the summer of 2013/14 at three different altitudinal sites (coastal, hillside and plateau) on the North eastern end of sub-Antarctica Macquarie Island.

The Antarctic Ozone Hole in 2011 Australian Meteorological and Oceanographic Journal, 2015 (Ref: 15514)
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature

The Antarctic ozone hole of 2011 is reviewed from a variety of perspectives, making … use of various data and analyses. The ozone hole of 2011 was relatively large … in terms of maximum area, minimum ozone level and total ozone deficit…

New sea ice estimates over the last 49ky in the Southeast Indian Ocean sector of the Southern Ocean 34th International Geological Congress, Brisbane, Australia, 5-10 August 2012, 2012 (Ref: 15462)
Category 3: Verbal presentation

Although many Quaternary records have allowed the study of major glacial-interglacial change in the … Southern Ocean, Holocene records from deep-sea cores are few and far between and are currently … limited to the South Atlantic. Low sedimentation rates combined with deep seafloors…
