The Wilkes site hut-remediation project, Antarctica. Proceedings of the 7th ICOM-CC Working Group on Wet Organic Archaeological Materials Conference, 1999 (Ref: 9013)
Category 3: Conference paper

The presence of water, snow and ice in abandoned Antarctic buildings can cause serious problems for their preservation. This is due to mechanical damage from the waters changing state and mass, as well as biological damage from the growth of mould and the corrosion of metals in wet conditions.

Hydrographic and climatic changes influencing the proglacial Druzhby drainage system, Vestfold Hills, Antarctica. Antarctic Science, 1996 (Ref: 8725)
Authors:
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature

Freshwater drainage systems, fed by melting of nearby inland-ice and perennial snowdrifts, exist in the south-eastern part of arid, ice-free, coastal Vestfold Hills. Most important is the complex Druzhby system.

Hydrology of Tierney Creek, Vestfold Hills, Antarctica. Polar Record, 1999 (Ref: 8726)
Authors:
Category 1: Peer-reviewed literature

The discharge in Tierney Creek from proglacial Chelnok Lake was recorded during the summer of 1987-88. In addition, air temperature, water temperature and radiation were recorded.

A quantitative analysis of the effects of human activity on the behaviour, physiology and breeding success of the Adélie Penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae). , 1995 (Ref: 8853)
Authors:
Category 3: Thesis, higher degree

This work employed manipulative experiments, in conjunction with statistical power analysis, to quantify the effects of human activity on Adélie Penguins (Pygoscelis adeliae) during the incubation and guard phases of their breeding cycle. Two main questions were addressed: (a) What is the minimum…
