Summary

The Latitudinal Gradient Proiect LGP) is a successful multidisciplinary, international Antarctic research programme. lts approach focuses on marine, terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems along the nofth-south latitudinal gradient between nofthern Victoria Land (72 degrees S) and the Queen Maud Mountains (86 degrees S) in the Ross Sea region, using this gradient as a proxy of climate change. From humble beginnings it now promises big science.
