Today was another day of pretty wild conditions with strong wind gusts. Helicopters stayed on the ship but LARCs were able to move some cargo and made the most of a short weather window after lunch to bring one group of passengers to the ship from station and take another to shore.
Despite the choppy seas, no-one got a proper drenching which was good news for those on the LARC but disappointing for onlookers.
As the afternoon wore on, wind gusts picked up, limiting further operations.
In really fantastic news, all ingoing cargo is now on station.
A large component of that is building materials for the Macquarie Island Modernisation Program, so this will set the station up for a really productive year. Thanks to all who braved the elements on a daily basis to make that happen.
About 21 per cent of RTA (cargo for Return to Australia) has been brought to the ship so that will be a big focus over the next few days.
REGARDS: Brendan, Jenn, and Nick
