Comments

The weather was always going to dictate what we got done today and dictate it did.
The helicopters unfortunately stayed in their hangar and there were no passenger transfers but the LARCs got to work intermittently, moving cargo to shore while the voyage management team kept a close eye on conditions.
It is incredible to watch the weather changes here. One minute the sun is shining and the island is bathed in gold light, the next it's snowing and shrouded in cloud.
On the island, one of our Arts Fellows, an FTO and a camera operator spent seven hours hiking in changing conditions to find the plants the botanical illustrator needs for her work.
She is elated to be off the ship and in the field but summed up her day with: "I face planted in a seal wallow."
We are yet to see if there are photos of this.
By 4:06pm, operations had ceased for the day and all LARCs were ashore.
Tomorrow's plan includes more cargo discharge, cargo backloading, and expeditioner transfers to and from the island but as always, weather will be the decider.

REGARDS: Brendan, Jenn, and Nick
