A magnificent day of operations today at Macquarie Island. Although it was not a day to see our aviation team in the skies, the trusty crew of watercraft operators transferred 9 project staff to shore to carry out their work and returned eight Northbound passengers to the ship. They then turned their watercraft to the task of moving high priority accommodation modules, fuel settling tanks and large bulky cargo to shore which saw the last of the large priority 1 cargo move to shore. If there was a time to play a power ballad it was 4:05pm when the last of the containers reached shore.

The crane operators onboard the Nuyina have been doing an incredible job placing the large containers onto the decks of the LARCs 14m below. The LARCs roll, pitch, and wallow like little pigs in mud and the crane operators take their time gently lowering the load with small adjustments until everything lines up and they can set the container down. It is wonderful to watch their precision.

We are enjoying the continuous efforts of all to achieve our objectives and a day of mist, fog and low cloud didn't dampen our spirits as we dispatched our cargo from the ship. Our passengers from shore all arrived with large smiles on their faces, happy to join the ship for hot showers and wonderful treats from galley after days in the field and for some up to 14 months of adventures.

REGARDS: Brendan, Jenn, and Nick
