As the weather passes through today, with the winds forecast to peak later at 50 knots or better, we still enjoy the view of icebergs in the distance and mountains ranges in the background, soaring above the blowing snow.
Mawson sits in the foreground of the Framnes Mountains. Made up of majestic Ranges including the David and Masson (Southern, Central and Northern) and the impressive Mount Henderson sitting behind Station. There are many notable peaks, some exceeding 1400 plus metres and three huts within the mountains that the Mawson team can enjoy throughout the year; Fang Peak, Rumdoodle and Henderson.
The view from afar is amazing, image the opportunity to venture inland and up to see the view from amongst the peaks.
