There are various science projects being supported onboard Nuyina and one of them today was the Shadwick mooring and Argos float deployment. This is one of the larger external science projects so far deployed from Nuyina. The project is focused in Prydz Bay, near the Amery Ice shelf and is designed to assist in providing a baseline for levels of CO2 in surface water.
Nuyina's crew, the onboard technical and science teams worked hard in preparation and execution to ensure the equipment was safety deployed at their respective locations over a seven-hour period. It was quite impressive.
Whilst that was going on, the team members going into Mawson are one step closer to being ready to call Mawson Station "home" with more briefings completed. Their new adventure is now only a couple days away.
