Comments

All on board are happy and well. Overnight the wind and seas abated as Nuyina stooged just outside of Newcomb bay. We awoke to a relatively calm but overcast day and were in harbour on DP by 0700. Ops commenced at 0800 and we'd collected the first of the day's RTA by 0930. By days end we'd on-boarded some 28 TEU in total. We've now developed a real sense of how best to get the most out of two barge operations as resupply nears completion. My complements to the Serco team. The weather looks promising for tomorrow and with some luck we will complete the on-boarding of the last of the RTA cargo. This being so, we will commence our return voyage to Hobart tomorrow evening or on the morning of the 8th January. In making passage back to Hobart it remains our plan to have one final pass over the newly identified sea bed canyon extending from the Vanderford Glacier for the purpose of collecting bathymetric data. As always, our plans are subject to the vicissitudes of complex machinery and Antarctic climes.

Regards

Keith
