Comments

The questions start to form. How long until we can smell land? How long until we can see land? The second of those is, at this moment, easy to answer. Quite some time. Sea fog obscures any cry of "land ahoy" and in all honestly, that cry is still perhaps another 24 hours away. We approach 7000nm, or nearly 13,000km, on the trip odometer. In other measures, that's the diameter of the earth! And also, the longest recorded non-stop migratory bird flight, made by a young bar-tailed godwit from Alaska to Tasmania (who knew?). Quite some distance. Tonight, we advance our clocks one final hour to join Hobart time on UTC +11. Not far to go now.
