Perhaps it is a little incongruous to quote Shackleton from the comfort of Nuyina, however if seems that in Antarctica some things remain the same 100 years later. Today we "... possess our souls with what patience we could till conditions should appear more favourable for a renewal of the attempt", seems to sum up another day of waiting for the winds to drop for recommencement of ice trial activities. Fortunately, we have been well entertained by the Emperor and Adelie penguins that have been hanging out on the edge of the fast ice, as well as a pod of Sei whales at the stern of the vessel.
