Comments

Overnight we moved to a new patch of fast ice to try and find something slightly thicker than the area we were in last night. This new area has been dubbed Wineglass Bay due to the sweeping crescent shape of the fast ice edge, reminiscent to that of its name sake on the Tasmanian east coast. We are currently positioned in some suitably thick ice and are waiting for the winds to drop to an acceptable level to put our ice measuring teams out to assess the ice thickness and confirm its suitability before manoeuvring begins.
