Nuyina departed Mawson to a pretty special send off by the Mawson 77th ANARE team. It included a sky of colour and the haunting sound of bagpipes. After two weeks at Mawson it was time to bid farewell.
After a day of pumping fuel and the movement of cargo and personnel by inflatable rubber boat (IRB), Nuyina deployed the last of our KOMBI moorings close to West Arm to be recovered next year. All and all a very successful day.
Nuyina is now heading to Davis as we try to stay ahead of a low that is moving from west to east directly behind us. For now, we have a comfortable ride but expect a bit more wind and swell as we go.
Regards, Chris & Andrew
