The ship is currently transiting in thick fog, which has reduced visibility down to a couple of hundred metres. So nothing really to see at the moment except fog... Yesterday saw the last of the Conductivity Temperature Depth (CTD) rosette stations completed for the first half of the voyage. We commenced a westerly course towards Syowa, passing well to the north-west of Casey. Other underway marine science continues to be undertaken during our passage. Tuesday afternoon provided us with perfect weather as our course took us between two low pressure systems. This gave all aboard an opportunity to view some pretty spectacular icebergs. No huge tabular bergs as yet, but some good small to medium sized bergs were spotted. The sunshine was appreciated as was the relatively light seas and swell. Also.....Happy Birthday for yesterday Muz! Overnight clocks were wound back an hour to UTC +7, which makes as four hours behind Hobart time (UTC+11). Regards, Rob, Aaron and Mick
