Leila Jeffreys is an Australian contemporary artist who works with birds across photography, moving image, and installation. In May 2023, she travelled to Macquarie Island as an Arts Fellow, where she photographed, filmed, and recorded the sounds of the island's birds in their natural habitats. She also kept a journal of her experiences.
To complete her project, Leila also travelled to Casey station in November 2025. Her work will be featured in her upcoming book, Seabird, and in exhibitions to be held in Sydney and London.
